Wath Curate for Sheffield
Appointment of Rector of Wombwell’s Son

The Rev Edward St Ledger Blakeney, M.A., a curate of Wath on Dearne and son of Canon J St Ledger Blakeney, M.A, Rector of Wombwell, and rural Dean, has accepted the succentorship of Sheffield Cathedral offered by the Provost of Sheffield.

He will leave Wath sometime in November.

The Rev Edward St Ledger Blakeney was trained at Trent College, Derbyshire and Emanuel College and Ridley Hall, Cambridge. He took his M.A. degree some weeks ago and has been at Wath two years. His appointment to Sheffield Cathedral restores and interesting family link.

His grandfather, the Rev J.E.Blakeney, was vicar of the parish church of Sheffield (now the Cathedral) from 1877 to 1895 and his father was curate there from 1902 to 1907.

He has done much good work at Wath
